On Saturday, March 10th, papa and I both ran our first official 5k at my elementary school. We ran it together and clocked an official time of 45:45. Not to shabby for my first race (especially since i was only one of the kids to run the full 5k and not the kids' 1 mile fun run.)
While we were running our race, mama was running her second half marathon of the spring. There aren't any pictures, but she did finish in 2:01.20. She was hoping for under 2 hours, but this is still her best time, so she was pretty happy.
On Tuesday, everyone went to the zoo (I had to go to school). Sadie had to have a little talking to when we got there. No one likes a time out, but it did make a cute picture.
Georgie and Dash are turning out to be out animal kids. Georgie just about lost it when she saw a duck in the turtle pond. "Duckie! Duckie!!"
June's pinkie puppy, Ratoodle, was excited to see the elephant.
Next up were the Colobus monkeys.
Listen up and you can hear Jo say "monkey." This little girl is a talking machine. She said the names of to many animals unprompted, such as duckie and monkey. Who knew? But she does make the rest of us look bad, seeing as how June and I barely spoke a word before we were two and a half.
The iguana was very close to the glass for inspection.
What's a day without a walk on a retaining walls?
Mark it down, 4 kids looking in the same direction and no one is crying (yet). Too bad I wasn't there to complete the shot.
Poor Jo. A big trip to the zoo is pretty exhausting.
