Pictures from Mom's phone- Georgie.

Mama has hit that age where suddenly technology is more foreign than familiar. (Or she hit that age a few years ago.) Pretty soon, Henry's going to have to teach her how to do everything.

So it's no surprise that she finally figured out how to take pictures with that fancy new phone papa got her (don't text her, she won't get it), but couldn't figure out how to upload the pictures to her computer.

June was also wearing her tie-dye, but then realized it wasn't a dress and probably didn't match her purse.

It's irrelevant, but worth noting that mama and papa's new favorite activity is starting up a Google+ hangout and video chatting with all of the 601 guys. Mama and Miss Susan regularly get online and video chat over drinks whenever they get a chance.

These kids look pumped to be out and about enjoying the splendors of nature. Don't let them fool you. We had a great time hiking on a trail that is also frequented by mountain bikers. Henry loved seeing them.

I didn't walk fast enough, so I was demoted to the backpack.

Mama took Henry and June geocaching one night after a playdate at Henry's buddy's house. We found the cache amidst the garbage where all the local high schoolers hang out down by the river. June actually found this cache, though it was ripped open and scattered all over the place. Teenagers.

The big thrill of the night was everyone's attempt at walking over a fallen log that hung 8 inches over a small ditch. I say attempt because mama was the only one that did it. Henry tried once or twice but kept falling off because he was clutching mama so tight.

I love the grocery store. Everything is orange and covered in tigers. There's a cool shopping cart that looks like a car. AND they give out cookies with purple and orange sprinkles. It's the best.

Wonder of wonder, miracles of miracles! After 4 months of constantly being behind on the blog, we're finally caught up! Now if we can just stay caught up!

Georgie took her first steps one month ago and now she's cruising around like she owns the place. And how sweet is it when she says "Mamamama"?

We have a good time together if I can just keep my hand off of her. I'm always trying to hold her or pick her up or pull her away from something. And it's not an understatement to say she does not like it. Also, in this video, I'm not shouting "Yeah! Beer!" but instead "Yeah! Bear!" That's just one pronunciation I never quite figured out.

(do you hear that music playing? I have a piggy bank that plays "When Irish Eyes are Smiling" every time you put a coin in. I was playing with it and mama couldn't get it to turn off.)

Mama's been asking about Halloween and I've insisted on wearing the same costume I wore for the past two Halloweens (I just wore it geocaching last week). But recently, I thought maybe I'd like to be a butterfly instead. Mama found this butterfly fairy costume for $8. It's a little more fairy and less butterfly.

I flew around the front yard all evening.

It's safe to say I love my new costume.

While I was flying and dancing, Henry was taking Georgie for a ride in her new favorite car. She loves riding in the jeep and loves standing up when Henry drives. Mama has to tie her to the seat so she doesn't jump out while it's moving.

Poor JoJo is walking so well that she now thinks she can also run with the big kids. She was running around me with me the other day and fell face first into a toy. You can't really notice, but there's also a few bumps and bruises on her forehead. Plus she scraped her legs up crawling up and down the brick steps in the back yard.

Tonight I picked out Georgie's jammies. Mama was skeptical that Georgie would manage, but she toddled right around the room.

Touch-a-truck- Henry.

Mama packed up Junie and I so we could go to a Touch-a Truck event in Greenville.

We got there just in time to see a helicopter land on the baseball field!

We had a great time climbing in and out of all of the trucks.

June thought she was pretty big stuff.

I was made they didn't let us drive any of the equipment.

I'm pretty sure I would have been awesome at this excavator.

Mama's favorite part was this little robot with two cameras that they drove into storm drains to check for blockages or cracks.

They did let us pull the levers to move the arms that dump the bins on the garbage truck.

Maybe the best part was going on the refrigerated truck and getting ice cream sandwiches!

I got to pose with a helicopter pilot. He told me that you only have to tie down one blade a helicopter because all of the rotors are connected.

Across the street from Touch-A-Truck was an awesome playground. Even if it was crowded, we had a ton of fun playing. June went down this 15 foot tall twisty slide about 50 times. Mama was happy because she heard June say "Excuse me" and "Please" to some rowdy kids that normally June may not have been so polite to.

June is really too cute for her own good.

We were so pumped when it was actually cool enough to wear sweatshirts. Of course, that didn't last more than an hour. But I refused to take mine off. Or to take down the hood.

On our way home, mama took us to CiCi's pizza, one of the best pizza buffets ever- mostly because they have a bunch of dessert pizzas (and it's crazy cheap to take kids!). On Sunday, papa was asking June if her ankle hurt. June replied "No, but mama's belly hurts." She then explained, "At the pizza store, mama ate so much pizza and she said 'All right, my belly's starting to hurt.' " Mama said, no one has ever really understood her the way June does.

It took 5 days of school to get Georgie sick from all the new germs. Poor Jo. Mama got it pretty bad too, but only one of them could spend all day with a nuk in her mouth cuddled up with her blankie. While George slept, mama and I decided to make sugar cookies.

I used every cookie cutter in the box.

Even the Texas cookie cutter! I think Henry is feeling a little bit bad about all the fun things we do while he's at school. We're all feeling a little low after a fun summer. Mama says she misses seeing all of her friends as well. When the playdates end, so does all the mama time.

After two days of school, I've pretty much got it figured out. I explained it to mama using goldfish. (And guess what? This is our 400th video that we uploaded to YouTube!I hope it's worthy of the occasion.)

Geocache Second Try- Henry.

On Monday, mama and I headed back out with JoJo to find that cache.

We headed back to the grove of trees and started looking.

For the first time, I found the cache all by myself! It was nice to finally have a success after a bunch of failures.

And George was pumped to go along!

And to face forward. Doesn't someone think she's big stuff.

Back at home, Junie insisted that papa take her picture.

There was no first day of school jitters for June!

The only problem June had was that mama insisted on taking pictures of her before she could go inside.

June has a bunch of friends already in her class. Andy, Lilly, and a new friend Coleman. And she's always bummed on Tuesdays and Thursdays when it's not a school day. (Check out that shoe and sock combo!)

So we dropped June off and mama and I looked at each other and wondered what we were going to do with ourselves. I'll be honest. It's pretty boring just the two of us.

So I reverted to my favorite activity- taking off one shoe.

With Henry at school, things suddenly got quieter around the house.

A little too quiet, as mama learned that all it takes is an open crayon drawer to keep me occupied for 15 minutes. (She's lately set me up in front of the drawer as she thinks I'm having the hardest time adjusting to school being back in session. I like the excitement of having my people around.)

To keep things interesting, mama had James and Andy over one day for lunch. Don't take this the wrong way, John and Henry, but with two less boys, there's much less screaming. Also, mama doesn't usually let the boys in the house so James and Andy have been dying to get inside to play with our toys. It was a very quiet morning.

Late this summer, I became acutely aware of when I wasn't being included, so I was very happy to have James and Andy to myself. I think James and I have a lot in common. We both like to pretend and make up silly songs. This is our take on "Too Many Monkeys Jumping on the Bed."

Georgie was so happy to have some lunchtime entertainment.

Geocache fail- Henry.

After supper one night, mama decided to take June and I out geocaching on campus. JoJo hadn't taken an afternoon nap, so mama got us out of the house so papa could put jo to bed early. That idea backfired on papa because Georgie takes naps by herself during the day, but has NO intention of going to sleep at night without her brother and sister. she cried for two hours until we got home.

It was a great idea except mama forgot that the Clemson football game was a 3pm start and had just ended an hour earlier. So we hit crazy traffic and all of the street onto campus were closed to traffic could get out. Inconvenient to say the least. But we persevered, parked very far away and walked onto campus.

Our first cache was next to this huge bur oak tree, aptly named the Centennial Oak, as it is the oldest and largest bur oak tree in South Carolina. Unfortunately for history's sake, this site is also home to a number of tailgaters and we're pretty sure the cache was hidden under two port-o-potties brought in for football season. We'll have to come back in the winter.

We got some funny looks crossing campus. First, because I was the only one wearing orange. Next, June was wearing her old Halloween fairy costume.

We found the grove of trees our next cache was hidden in, but by the time we got there, it was too dark to see anything under the trees. But we did have a great time posing for pictures beside the nicely lit library and reflection pool. We were also lucky to have been there before the Tiger fans dyed the whole pool orange. If anything was living in there before, it's gone now.

Mama took the coordinates of our car and let me guide us back using the GPS. We had a great time walking through campus and cut through dorms and parking lots. We cut through a row of hedges expecting to come out behind another building and found ourselves standing in someone's backyard looking in at a family watching football. Mama quickly realized we were in the University President's backyard and scooted us up the driveway before we were sighted. Sorry President Barker. At least his dogs weren't out.
