About 8 hours after Grandma and Grandpa left, our next wave of guests rolled in from North Carolina.
Mama brought this dress back from India for June, but June refuses to wear it on the grounds that it's too fancy. (That's believable, June.) But Grace is up for anything, so she was completely willing to try it on.
That afternoon we hit up the elementary school's international festival. Mama insisted that we actually try real food instead of just eating the maple candies from the Canadian table. Then she insisted that jello and hot dogs from the American table didn't count. I eventually tried (and liked) the Korean barbecue and a couple things from the Libyan table. Georgie showed all of us up by downing an entire bowl of pork and cabbage from the Hungarian table.
(How lucky are we that in small town South Carolina we have this awesome festival where we get to go eat food made by families from our school? Mama's trying to hatch a plan to find the family from Burma so they can teach her how to cook their super spicy soup.)
Jo loves her dollies.
After a very full day of being crazy, all the grown-up were happy to let the kids watch a movie. Even Georgie settled in (for about 5 minutes) to have a sleepover with the big kids.
Too bad we didn't get more pictures of the merriment. Maybe that's because, for the first time ever, the four big kids did their own thing and left the adults to enjoy each other's company and relax. Come back soon, Audrey and Grace!
