Next up on our list of guests were Miss Leah and Olivia!
Turns out, she's not much of a baby anymore. Mama and I saw her last summer when we were at the beach, but the rest of us haven't seen her since my baptism when we were both babies.
We were so excited about out visitors that we all pulled out the stops, which generally includes Henry and June yelling "Miss Leah! Watch this! Look at this!" and acting like crazy people in general. (On the other hand, I generally just get so overwhelmed with excitement that I go crazy then demand to be put down for a nap.
Henry gave many jeep rides, but he soon tired of chauffeuring around a one year old. So Olivia and June made a break for it. June pressed the pedal and Olivia steered. It took them three seconds to crash into the back of Miss Leah's car.
Miss Leah was so impressed that we already went to the beach that she asked if we could go back. Olivia is a little more than a month older than me. But she grew out of the bathing suit I'm wearing last July. I sure look like a shrimp next to her.
We all had a great time. Henry and June were pretty bold jumping off the docks. Olivia and I were content playing in the shallow water.
On the way home, we rode with the windows down. Olivia thought it was hysterical!
And June and I danced. Notice also that the Turners are those classy kids who ride home from the beach in our underpants. Mama said she wasn't going to wrestle clean clothes on us if we were going straight in the bath anyway. (Between you and me, there's probably only about a 10% chance of us getting a bath on any given day anyway. We have to get really good and dirty to get someone to bath us around here.)
In an unrelated note, mama got called up and offered a ticket to go see the Cirque de Soleil Michael Jackson show in Charlotte with some of her friends. Since mama's all about saying yes now (and the ticket was free), she dropped us kids and headed out. To say the least, it was a fun show.
Here's a clip of how over the top it was. There were also lots of acrobatics and other amazing things, but mama was so mesmerized that she forgot to take any videos of the really cool stuff.
