1st Spring Break- Georgie.

Henry's school gets two spring breaks. The first was a 3 day break that coincided with the University Spring Break and the second will be the weeklong Easter break at the end of April. What exactly are we paying tuition for? June's preschool didn't have break, so we had an unusual morning with just Henry.
We decided to take advantage of the beautiful day and go to the zoo. With a baby in the house and June's theatrics (both whining and singing), Henry actually sometimes falls to the wayside, so it was nice spending the morning just with him. There aren't any bears at this zoo. Henry reasoned it was because there used to be a bear, but it died and they dipped it in black paint, then painted it gold and now it's a statue.
We took a quick stroll around the animals, but Henry's mind was set on the great playground outside.
I'm so lucky to have such a great big brother. Wow, we really look alike in this picture.

I've become increasingly clingy lately- not necessarily to a particular person, but just to the idea of having someone very close to me at all times. The doctor said it's completely normal for my age. Mama can't even keep me in the high chair in the dining room while she works int he kitchen in plain sight. So she now has to move the high chair into the kitchen with her to keep me happy. The best is when Henry or June are playing on the floor and mama can set me up by them for a while to play together. But it may not last for long. Tonight I tried to grab Henry's train as it drove past me.
We've had an uncommonly dry winter down here and South Carolina is trying to make up for it all this week. Rain, rain and more rain. A big thunderstorm came through and Henry and June got spooked by the thunder. Somehow they convinced papa that they'd be able to fall asleep if they could camp out on the floor. At some point after 11pm, they did eventually fall asleep.
Papa gave mama and I Sunday off while he took Henry, June and John to the Children's Museum. Mama and I cleaned out all of the bathroom drawers and closets, then I got to go take a nap at Miss Juliet's while mama went for a 10 mile run. (Apparently, we kids are interchangeable now.) When I got home, the boys were watching Star Wars. They let me watch with them.
I prefer my food to be pureed and shoveled into my mouth very quickly, but occasionally, I dabble in feeding myself. So mama gives me apple slices to suck on. They are much easier to clean up than biter biscuits (see the photo above). While I ate, Junie sang me her new favorite song: "Butterfly, Butterfly, what do you see? I've got a butterfly in my ear today."

Also, I think my nose is starting to turn red from all of the squash and carrots I've been eating. Orange food is the best!

Henry was a big goof tonight and started saluting us. Do you think you have a slot for a private in your brigade, PawPaw?
